Swedish Gaming Authority bans WiseAvant

The Swedish Gaming Authority has banned WiseAvant OÜ from providing games in Sweden as it does not possess the necessary licence to do so.

The company has organised lotteries with so-called “skins” on its website. Skins are cosmetic collectibles from video games, which can be bought and sold outside of the video games they belong to.

The website offers different forms of play, where players can win a skin. If the player loses, the bet is also lost. The marketing of the website occurs, among other places, on the video sharing platform Twitch.

The Swedish Gambling Authority stated: “We prioritise measures that contribute to gambling taking place with operators who have a Swedish gambling licence.

“The Swedish Gaming Authority therefore clarifies the basis for our decisions on banning illegal online gambling by publishing these on our websiteby publishing these on our website.”
