Arsenal vs. Everton prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for final Premier League match of season | Sporting News

Arsenal will put their best foot forward as they host Everton on Sunday, with the 2023/24 Premier League title race coming down to the final matchday of the season.

To have a shot at a sensational late change in the standings, the Gunners require a win here alongside leaders Manchester City dropping points at home against West Ham. Regardless, Arsenal will know that they can only worry about what they can control, and that is doing the business at home.

Since the Premier League began in 1992, no club has ever gone into the final matchday of the season with the table lead and failed to win the title, but Arsenal will believe that streaks like those are meant to be broken.

Despite sitting 15th in the Premier League table, Everton have finished the season very strong, putting themselves firmly out of relegation reach. The Toffees have enjoyed a five-match unbeaten run which includes the win over Liverpool which ruined their title chances, and now could potentially get another title altering result against Arsenal.

Arsenal vs. Everton prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Arsenal (-550)
  • Score prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Everton

Everton have fought hard towards the end of the season, even after mathematically confirming Premier League safety. Yet expecting them to come to the Emirates Stadium and end Arsenal’s title fight is a bit much to ask even of a team in form.

The Toffees should be able to keep this match close, considering how well they’ve played defensively over the last few weeks, but Arsenal have the grit to push through and secure the necessary three points to give themselves a chance. Man City may end up as champions, but the Gunners should at least erase any margin for error.

Arsenal vs. Everton best bet

  • Pick: Arsenal under 2.5 goals
  • Odds: +105 (BetMGM)

If Arsenal are going to put themselves in position to win the Premier League title, they’ll likely need to do so with their defensive prowess and not a flurry of goals. Everton have been exceptional at the back over the course of their late-season run, including holding Liverpool off the scoresheet.

Everton kept a lid on the Gunners’ attack last time they met at Goodison Park back in September, holding Arsenal to one goal on 13 shots worth 1.02 xG, and they have held Arsenal to under one or zero goals in five of their last seven meetings.

Arsenal have been able to lean on their back line plenty of times down the stretch, including in recent wins over Man United (1-0), Wolves (2-0), and Luton Town (2-0) since the start of April.

Arsenal vs. Everton prop bet

  • Pick: Arsenal to win to nil
  • Odds: -105 (BetMGM)

The odds on this are annoyingly muted, but it’s still worth a shot. Arsenal’s defence has been exceptional, and the Everton attack has been one of the least efficient in the league thanks in large part to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s struggles in front of goal.

Calvert-Lewin has four of his seven goals this year in the last month, but even then it takes high-value chances for him to cash in. Just two of his goals this season are on chances worth less than 0.3 xG, and only one of those has been since the start of November.

The Gunners don’t give up high-value chances often, and the last time they met, Arsenal held Everton to just 0.34 xG on eight total shots.
