Sunil Grover’s ‘United Kacche’ To Cover Immigrants’ Plight In UK, Fans Call Teaser ‘Ek Number’

Along with Satish Shah, Sunil Grover will soon be featured in the new streaming series United Kacche.

The comedy series was filmed in the UK and features a British setting.

It tells the tale of Punjabi native Tejinder “Tango” Gill (played by Sunil Grover), who longs to emigrate to a country where the going is easier and the grass is greener. His late father and grandfather, who also desired to migrate overseas for a better life, left him with this dream.

He manages to procure a tourist visa for the United Kingdom somehow, and he leaves without much thought to the future.

He will be regarded as an illegal immigrant when his visa expires, which will signal the start of the actual battle of living overseas.

United Kacche sheds light on the conditions of many of these Bangladeshi, Pakistani, and Indian people who aren’t legally residing in England and are hence referred to as Kacche. They settle overseas as unauthorized immigrants without proper documentation, subsisting off of daily income while continuously evading the law. The show contrasts their aspirations and wants with the realities of living abroad in a lighthearted and enjoyable way.

The teaser was released recently and fans are left excited.

One wrote, “This looks like a good watch also Waiting for your show Sunflower season 2.”

A second added, “super hit hai.”

Director of United Kacche Manav Shah said: “In India, everyone has an aspiration to go and settle abroad and they would do anything for it. ‘United Kacche’ is a light-hearted funny show that takes you into the lives of people who would do anything to settle abroad and how people from different communities and countries unite to support each other.”

For the unversed, Sunil Grover first drew attention for his depiction of Gutthi on Comedy Nights with Kapil, but he went on to become well-known for his performances as Dr. Mashhoor Gulati and Rinku Devi on The Kapil Sharma Show. Moreover, he appeared in the Bollywood movies Bharat, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, and Gabbar Is Back.

In the political drama web series Tandav, which was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and starred Saif Ali Khan, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kumud Mishra, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Gauahar Khan, Amyra Dastur, Kritika Kamra, Sarah Jane Dias, and Sandhya Mridul, among others, Grover played Gurpal Chauhan in 2021. He lost over 8.1 kg to play Sonu Singh in the suspenseful online series Sunflower that same year.

‘United Kacche’ will premiere on ZEE5 on March 31.
