Philadelphia Eagles 2023 NFL Draft Odds: Bijan Robinson In Play

The Philadelphia Eagles had a special 2022 season that culminated in an NFC Championship and a Super Bowl berth. Unfortunately, the favored Eagles were the latest team to fall to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the Big Game.

Now, they start fresh on a quest to get to Super Bowl 58, with Jalen Hurts leading the offense and a team that finished No. 3 in the NFL in total offense and No. 2 in total defense.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t holes to fill. Free agency took away some key pieces and salary cap issues prevent major splashes of their own. Philadelphia owns two first-round selections in the 2023 NFL Draft, including the No. 10 overall pick. They can do a lot with that.

Bookies.com oddsmaker Adam Thompson has used his resources of NFL contacts developed over 20 years covering the league and the NFL Draft to create his hypothetical NFL futures odds on who gets selected 10th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Who Will The Eagles Take In 2023 NFL Draft?

Starting cornerbacks James Bradberry and Darius Slay were both on the verge of leaving via free agency. Both have decided to return. CB remains a spot of need, however, and the Eagles are in a spot to grab a top-two CB in the draft.

Christian Gonzalez is the CB1 by all accounts, a Year One starter who has the size and athleticism to handle his own right away. Gonzalez has been targeted by teams anywhere from No. 6 to No. 9 in mock drafts, leaving the Eagles out of that mix. If he drops to 10th, Philly takes him. It’s possible the Eagles move up a couple slots to get him, as well.

If Gonzalez isn’t there, Devon Witherspoon of Illinois or Joey Porter Jr. of Penn State are next in line. Neither are considered slam dunks, however, so that’s when the Eagles could begin to look at other spots of need.

Running back is one of those spots. Miles Sanders has landed in Carolina for 2023. Philly did counter by inking Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny, but Penny has only been used as a complement to a starter (a role he has been great in) and he has had injury concerns. If the Eagles want to take the position to a new level and do so on a rookie deal, Bijan Robinson offers that at No. 10.

Robinson averaged 6.1 yards per carry and gained 1,580 yards on the ground with 20 total TDs for the Texas Longhorns. Robinson could go anywhere from No. 10 to No. 26 depending on need, but adding Robinson should help Jalen Hurts push the offense to a new level.

If Robinson feels like a reach for the Eagles at No. 10, Philly could get the draft’s No. 2 RB prospect at No. 30. Jahmyr Gibbs of Alabama.

Edge rusher is also on the list, with new addition Brandon Graham not getting any younger and Robert Quinn not expected back. So is interior D-line with Javon Hargrave now in San Francisco.

Edge rushers Will Anderson Jr. of Alabama and Tyree Wilson of Texas Tech won’t be around at No. 10, and Georgia DL Jalen Carter likely won’t be, though character questions have dropped his stock.

Myles Murphy of Clemson and Lukas Van Ness of Iowa both offer size on the edge. Van Ness has the higher ceiling according to some scouts, giving him a small advantage. Georgia’s Nolan Smith is small for the spot (238 pounds) but with linebacker a potential position of interest, the Eagles may look at his versatility as a positive.

The Field includes other high risers or slight fallers in the draft, including Georgia DL Jalen Carter, Penn State CB Joey Porter Jr. or Alabama S Brian Branch, if the team wants to slightly reach on a replacement for CJ Gardner-Johnson.
