NBA Player Props & Best Bets Today: Schedule, Picks for Friday

We’re diving into our favorite NBA
player props and the best bets for Friday, based on the best
NBA odds.

Thursday in the Association was bustling with activity due to numerous trades at the deadline and a packed schedule of nine games. While Friday’s schedule calms down with only six games, there’s still plenty to player prop bets to pounce on.

Tyrese Maxey and the
Philadelphia 76ers get one of the most favorable draws in the league with a
matchup against the porous Atlanta Hawks defense.

Meanwhile, Kyle Kuzma and the
shorthanded Washington Wizards head to TD Garden to face the Boston Celtics,
and he should take on an expanded role as a rebounder.

Rookie Amen Thompson is
expected to start Friday as the Houston Rockets travel north to face the
Toronto Raptors.

Finally, we’ll target a matchup between the NBA’s leaders in
triple-doubles when Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets face Domantas Sabonis
and the Sacramento Kings on the road.

Here
are our NBA player props and best bets for Friday (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a
1-to-5-star scale).

You
bet on your guards against Atlanta. Until the Hawks start playing some defense
and prove us otherwise, we’re going to keep making this bet. Over their last
seven, the Hawks have given up 60 to Steph Curry, 73 to Luka Doncic, and 30
apiece to Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.

The
Sixers are not a team with multiple quality scorers, and Maxey should be
expected to have his way with Atlanta. In his last two games against
the Hawks, Maxey scored 35 and 30 points, and we’ll certainly bet the Over on
his alt points prop in this one.

The Hawks have overtaken the Wizards as the most generous defense in the Association, allowing a whopping
124 points per game, including 136 across their last three.

This looks to be as
close to a lock as we can provide for Friday’s best bets.

If you want to parlay Maxey’s success with that of his teammate, be sure to use our exclusive Caesars promo code: SBRBONUS1000 and get boosted odds to +325 for Maxey to score 30-plus points and Kelly Oubre to add two-plus 3-pointers!

Kyle Kuzma
double-double vs. Celtics (+260 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

Kuzma is averaging a career-high 21.9 points per game for Washington this season, but
he’s grabbing his lowest rebound total in three seasons, at just 6.4 per tilt. On Friday, he should be far more active on the glass thanks to several key
absences.

Daniel Gafford was traded to the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, and
Marvin Bagley III is out. Newcomer Richaun Holmes may be available to make his
Wizards debut, but that’s certainly not a guarantee.

With
both Gafford and Bagley unavailable, Kuzma should see some extra run at
center, which would translate to plenty of additional rebounds.

Despite
Boston’s reputation as a strong defensive team that protects the paint, the
Celtics allow the 11th-most rebounds to opponents, and if Jayson Tatum
(illness) is unable to suit up, additional rebounding opportunities should open
up for Kuzma in what would be an even more favorable matchup.

We won’t sweat
him getting to 10-plus points, but we’ll take the plus-money action on a
double-double here as he should have no problem reaching double-digit boards.

Amen Thompson Over
27.5 points + rebounds + assists vs. Raptors (-120 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Thompson
has started to come alive over the last two weeks, and he’s been great
in his two starts. Both of his starts came in games that Fred VanVleet sat out,
and VanVleet will be sidelined again on Friday. In those starts, Thompson
cruised past this line both times, averaging 32 PRA and 33 minutes.

We
can expect big minutes again on Friday, which bodes well for him cashing. In six
games with at least 23 minutes played, Thompson has averaged 13.7 points, 9.0
rebounds, and 5.3 assists, good for 28 PRA.

He’s hit this mark three times and
missed it by a hook with 27 in one other contest. Friday’s matchup with
Toronto is certainly not one to fear from a defensive standpoint, so we’ll take
the Over on this promising rookie.

Nikola Jokic
triple-double vs. Kings (+165 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

It
wouldn’t be surprising if both Jokic and Sabonis compiled triple-doubles
on Friday, but we’re banking on the Joker here.

Over the last two seasons, Jokic has
averaged 32 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 10.3 assists in three games against
Sacramento, including two head-to-head with Sabonis. Jokic went for 36/13/14 at
Sacramento when these teams first squared off this season.

The
big man has been hot over his last four, too, averaging 26.3 points, 14.8 rebounds, and 10 assists and posting two triple-doubles.

Jokic is always
a triple-double threat, but the usual hang-up comes in the assists department,
rather than rebounds. However, Sacramento allows the ninth-most assists per contest at
27.6 overall, and it allows the fifth-most dimes at home with 28.

We’ll
take the plus-money odds on Jokic adding to his league-leading (tied with
Sabonis) 15 triple-doubles.
