The final Premier League weekend before another international break (sigh) begins with Crystal Palace v Liverpool in the early kickoff.
Former Chelsea, West Ham and Reds midfield maestro Joe Cole joined us recently to let us know his thoughts on this game after a sterling week, which included bagging two winners on Liverpool’s Champions League victory over Bologna and a correct score punt from Bournemouth v Southampton in the Monday Night Football.
Joe fancies the away side to take the points but Palace could make a dent. He’s got a couple of player picks in here too, so they’ll fall under Paddy’s Super Sub promotion, meaning the pick carries over to a player’s replacement should he come off. That’ll have our traders feeling nervy after they had to fork out £1.6 MILLION last week after Jhon Duran a co did the business on a sub-friendly Sunday.
Liverpool to win
Both teams to score, yes
Luis Diaz to score
Eberechi Eze to score
WHEN: Saturday, 5th October, 12:30pm
WHERE: Selhurst Park, London
TV: TNT Sports
Liverpool have made a fantastic start under Arne Slot, and I think they’ll be around the peripheries of the title race.
He wasn’t happy about their midweek performance against Bologna in the Champions League. He spoke after the game about how concerned he was about parts of their game, but they ultimately got the job done.
The 12:30 kickoff at Selhurst Park will be tough, although Crystal Palace are struggling.
They’re not quite the same team as they were last season under Oliver Glasner, but I feel they’ll come good.
I fancy Liverpool to win the game and both teams to score to land, too. And Luis Diaz is a real threat again this season; he looks back to his best, so I’d take him to score.
For Palace, another player who’s always a threat is Eberechi Eze. I think he’s the best player outside of the top four to six teams.
He’s seen his mate Michael Olise go to Bayern Munich and he’ll want a bit of that!
I can see them scoring. Liverpool look a bit fragile when playing out from the back.
I’d take him to score, too.
The midfield could get a bit spiky as well. I’d go with Adam Wharton for a booking, too. He could put his foot in.
